Position: Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT)
Location: Cranbrook, BC
Type: Full-time/Part-time
About Us: We are a well-established, mixed animal veterinary clinic committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and their families. Our clinic is privately owned and operated by a group of five women, one of whom is an RVT. Our team is passionate about animal welfare, and the human – animal bond. We strive for a fear free practice in clinic to ensure patient and staff comfort and safety. Our team has diverse interests and we offer traditional services for equine sports medicine, as well as equine medical, surgical and preventive care, bovine production, small ruminant and exotics care, canine and feline; preventive, medical, orthopedic and behavior consults as well as alternative therapies such as chiropractic’s and acupuncture. We have committed to practice high quality medicine and maintain up-to date equipment. We are an inclusive practice and maintain a culture of compassion, acceptance and understanding. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and emergency procedures with precision and care.
- Assist veterinarians in diagnostics and treatment plans.
- Provide client education on pet health and wellness.
- Manage and maintain medical records and inventory.
- Monitor anesthesia and post-operative care.
- Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
Qualifications:
- Valid RVT certification from an accredited program.
- Successful completion of the VTNE.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A passion for animal care and client education.
- A commitment to respect and value all team members as individuals and allies.
- Practice fear-free methods and be an advocate for patient welfare.
