Head Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT)

We’re currently searching for an amazing Head Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) to help lead and grow our tech team. If you can balance compassion, leadership, and a great sense of humour, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, mentor, and support the veterinary technologist team to ensure high standards of care.
• Assist veterinarians in all aspects of patient care, including anesthesia, dentistry, surgery, diagnostics and treatment plans.
• Keep the clinic running smoother than a cat’s purr by overseeing patient flow and coordinating hospital procedures.
• Ensure compliance with clinic protocols and veterinary medical standards.
• Manage the inventory of medical supplies and equipment maintenance.
• Provide client education on preventative care, treatments, and post-operative care.
• Participate in staff training and development programs.
  Assist with administrative tasks, and (occasionally) keeping the team laughing ;)

Qualifications:

• You’re a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) in good standing with the BCVTA (superhero cape optional).
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a clinical setting, leadership experience is an asset.
• Detail-oriented and organized, you can manage a team with the precision of a well-trained Border Collie.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills – because clients (and pets) appreciate someone who listens.
• Competency in anesthesia, dentistry, surgical preparation, radiography, and laboratory procedures.
• Passionate about animal care and committed to professional development.
• Experience with cloud-based veterinary software and AI is a plus, but we’ll teach you the ropes if you’re new to it!
