The Role
The Poultry Nutrition Consultant will provide nutritional and management solutions to Connect OnFarm’ s monogastric customers. You will manage individual customer accounts and build customer loyalty through the consultative selling process. As part of the Connect OnFarm sales team, you are an active team player who is engaged in supporting the company’s vision and growth objectives.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
Work directly with Connect On Farm’s customers and internal specialized nutritionists to provide leading-edge, customized nutritional solutions and value-based management services
Continuously use and improve your consultative selling approach and manage direct accounts so that you are the number one value contributor to each customer’s business
Create and implement initiatives to drive the development of new business through innovation, nutritional solutions, prospect management and producer meetings
Understand that working with the colony agriculture segment in Western Canada requires a working knowledge of the unique relationship-connecting skills that align with their communal lifestyle choices
Embrace teamwork and work closely with stakeholders to understand internal capabilities and processes of manufacturing and logistics
Stay up to date on industry trends/technology to understand producers’ evolving expectations and needs
Understand customers’ retail requirements and provide complimentary recommendations to support their requirements
Be prepared to lead individual field-based projects which bring value and innovation to customers
Professionally represent the Connect OnFarm brand at industry trade shows, conferences and meetings
Develop and maintain relationships with other industry advisors, including veterinarians, financial institutions and reproductive technologists
Act as a Connect OnFarm representative at internal and external customer events, industry trade shows and conferences
Passionate about creating happy customers by “Keeping it Simple” and doing what’s right for the customer and Connect OnFarm

Skills & Experience Required
Advanced understanding of monogastric nutrition and farm management with the capabilities to advance these skills through a continuous learning process
Positive attitude with outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to create satisfied internal and external customers
Strong verbal communication skills with the flexibility, diplomacy and adaptability to work with various personality types
Goal-oriented team player who is open to learning, challenging and improving
Strong time management and organizational skills
Display honesty, integrity and a strong sense of ethics in all decisions and actions
Possess the consultative selling skills required to sell and service monogastric customers
Resourceful with strategic and analytical capabilities
Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to establish/maintain effective relationships with coworkers and customers
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of the Connect OnFarm team; you believe in making others more successful
Flexible, adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
Qualifications include
University or college diploma or degree in an agriculture-related program or equivalent experience
Background in the Canadian monogastric industry; poultry experience essential
Agricultural sales experience would be beneficial
Colony experience an asset
Previous ration balancing expertise and the ability to adjust ration recommendations accordingly
Ability to analyze on-farm records and to utilize this data to identify areas for improvement
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Role Location
Expected to reside within an area allowing easy access to business facilities and customers (within the Canadian Prairie Provinces)
