Looking for an RVT to instruct Laboratory Procedures
Lakeland College is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) with a passion for education and innovation to instruct Laboratory Procedures (hematology, urinalysis, parasitology, microbiology) within our VT Blended program, sharing teaching responsibilities with another instructor. Online labs start April 28, and runs until June 20, 2025 followed by a condensed, in person lab session on the Vermilion Campus from July 14, 2025 to July 23, 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead engaging lab experiences, both in-person and online, that build essential technical skills.
• Design innovative virtual lab exercises, making hands-on skills accessible in an online environment.
• Guide student learning, providing instruction, support, and meaningful feedback.
• Collaborate with a co-instructor to ensure seamless course delivery and student success.
• Assess student progress, preparing and grading assignments, quizzes, and lab evaluations.
• Engage with the program team, contributing to course planning and meetings.
What You Bring:
• Expertise in hematology, urinalysis, parasitology, and microbiology across all domestic species in a veterinary setting.
• A knack for creative teaching, with the ability to make complex lab skills engaging and accessible—both in-person and online.
• Experience with virtual learning tools and a willingness to experiment with new teaching methods.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, ensuring a smooth learning experience for students.
• Ability to work collaboratively, balancing independent initiative with teamwork.
Job Requirements:
• Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) in good standing with the ABVMA.
• Reliable high-speed internet.
• Teaching experience an asset, particularly in online or blended learning environments.
• Hands-on experience performing veterinary laboratory techniques in a clinical or educational setting.
• Comfort with learning management systems (e.g., D2L) or a willingness to learn.
