🌟 We are excited to announce ABVTA Member Kaila Stewart as the recipient of the 2024 Lucille Landals Emerging Leader Award! 🌟 This award is presented to a new member of the ABVTA who makes outstanding contributions to the Association and our professional veterinary community.

💫 Criteria for the Award:
✅ Supports the ABVTA’s mission by advancing the profession while providing compassionate veterinary care
✅ Demonstrates sustained leadership and initiative
✅ Must be within the first five (5) years of membership (post-graduation) with the ABVTA

A dedicated Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) based in Crossfield, Alberta, Kaila Stewart has built a thriving career in equine medicine. Graduating with Distinction from Olds College in 2022, she quickly rose to the position of Lead Technologist at Energy Equine, where she played a key role in developing the clinic’s new surgery and anesthesia department. Known for her strong communication skills, calm demeanor, and passion for equine care, Kaila continues to make a lasting impact on her team and the clients she serves.

We proudly celebrate Kaila’s commitment to veterinary medicine and the equine community. Her contributions continue to elevate the role of RVTs, inspiring future generations in the profession.

We are thrilled to introduce Megan Niles as a new member of the ABVTA Board of Directors! 🎉

Megan graduated from the veterinary technology program at NAIT in 2015 where she developed a passion for the medical field and honed her skills in small animal and exotic pet medicine.

Throughout her career, Megan has been supported by mentors who fostered her creativity and growth. At her clinic, she helped develop an RVT engagement system and specialized appointments to improve workflow and patient care.

Eager to advance the mobilization and engagement of RVTs, Megan joins the ABVTA Board to collaborate and support RVTs, believing these efforts will improve retention and have a lasting impact on the veterinary profession.
