Emergency Registered Technologist

Boreal Veterinary Centre is seeking Full time Registered Veterinary Technologists for our Emergency Department. We want to put you in the perfect role for you. We see RVTs as veterinary medical professionals and believe strongly in their expertise and contributions to our patient care. You will work in an environment where you are consistently supported and encouraged to grow. We have a strong focus on appropriate patient ratios and providing you with highly trained support staff so you can focus on doing what you do best. Our ownership team prioritizes RVT engagement, scope of practice and competency and want to provide you with whatever is needed to maximize job satisfaction and earning potential to elevate hospital efficiency and patient care. Schedules will be flexible.

The perfect candidate will:

• Be a registered member of the ABVMA/ABVTA
• Take pride in their problem-solving ability
• Be open-minded
• Possess strong communication skills
• Have a desire for ongoing learning and be willing to mentor and support others
• No experience is necessary but all levels of experience are welcome!

Boreal Veterinary Centre is a brand-new veterinary referral and emergency practice. We have 15000 square feet of brand-new construction. We are situated on 2.2 acres and include a pond and a walking path. We have 9 examination rooms, 2 comfort rooms, a large open treatment room, an ICU, 3 large fully equipped surgery suites, an endoscopy suite, 2 radiology suites, chemotherapy ward, CT scan and Northern Alberta’s first radioactive iodine therapy ward. We also use a Instinct, a cloud based, paperless system that will increase accessibility and flexibility for communication throughout our hospital.

Boreal is a privately owned hospital. It was created by 4 veterinary professionals who have developed a strong working relationship over the past 10 years and have extensive management experience. Our ownership team boasts diversity in their expertise as well as experience and includes a Board-Certified Small Animal Surgeon, A Board-Certified Internal Medicine Specialist, An experienced emergency veterinarian as well as a registered veterinary Technologist with a VTS in Emergency and Critical care. They have all been heavily involved with many volunteer positions within the veterinary associations in Alberta. All the ownership team have young families and are aware of the challenges that veterinary medicine can present.
